Galveston Beach Day

Sunday we took Rylie to the beach for the first time! We bought her this outfit when we visited Galveston 2 years ago, anticipating she'd wear it last year, but we never went back until now & it still fits her!

The town still has lots of damage from Ike. This hotel was badly damaged & is still closed. I believe they're going to tear it down now? Sadly, David's Granny & Pawpaw honeymooned there over 40 yrs ago.

Well, none of us ate a big enough breakfast because we were starving when we got to Galveston! So we stopped at Joes Crab Shack for some lunch.

Then Rylie finally got to see the beach! She'd been asking for it the entire drive down (even though she didnt know what the beach was lol).

Daddy took her out to the water first. She loved just standing there while the waves splashed her!

Then they came back up & built some castles with her new beach toys.

Of course she called them "lighthouses"

Then Mommy took her out for awhile & we collected some seashells.

After an afternoon at the beach, we went to a hotel a little north of Galveston. We got cleaned up & dressed to take David out to a birthday dinner. We chose BJ's Restaurant & it was really good! Our first time there & we're fans!

They gave David a free pazookie dessert (cookies & cream hehe) which he of course shared with Rylie! It was a really great family day & continuation of David's birthday celebration! I think Rylie's gonna ask to go back to the beach a LOT! hehe

Fun!

Landry's has actually bought the Flagship Hotel and plan to rebuild it and also expand it to have restaurants and amusement activities. So its not going to be gone forever.
